The first coordination meeting took place on February 28, 2019. The result of the meeting is a map of challenges and opportunities for Ukrainian cultural opinion leaders and government-funded state-owned institutions. During the first coordination meeting it was offered to transform into an initiative workgroup, which later would be able to affect resolution of various fundamental problems at multiple levels in a more efficient way thanks to shared vision and common actions.
Coordination meetings are one of the institutional programs of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation intended to create a unified ecosystem of culture and creativity in Ukraine. The main trigger for organising the meeting was the situation that occurred with the appearance of new affluent institutions, each claiming to play a proactive role in public policy formation. At the same time it became necessary to emphasize responsibilities of the cultural institutions and organizations in synchronizing their efforts in lobbying collective interests at multiple levels – the Ministry of Finance, bodies of legislative power, international funds and institutions.
The first coordination meeting was attended by Olena Borodina (National Research Fund), Andriy Demchuk, Anastasia Krylova (Export Promotion Office of Ukraine), Victoria Kim (Ukrainian Book Institute), Ivan Kozlenko (The Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Center), Stanislav Lyacynsky (International Renaissance foundation), Serhiy Neretin (Ukrainian state film agency), Olga Nikolayeva (State Fund for Regional Development, Ministry for Regional Development of Ukraine), Olesya Ostrovska-Luta (Mystetskyi Arsenal), Anna Petrova (SME Development Office - SMEDO), Julia Homchin (Institute of Culture Strategy), Yuliia Fediv, Nadiia Kovalchuk (Ukrainian Cultural Foundation), Volodimir Sheyko (Ukrainian Institute), Alina Shpak (Ukrainian Institute of National Memory).
Moderator: Olena Pravylo (NGO "Congress of Activists of Culture").
Art-scribe: Irina Prykhodko ("Visualization Workshop").
The institutional program "Coordinating Meetings" is supervised by the analytical department of the UCF.
