With the informational support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the "MIR" art initiative has been launched in Italy. It's a joint project of the "Residenze Artistiche" network of Italian residences and the Italian Ministry of Culture, which is designed to support Ukrainian artists who have been forced to shut down their activity due to the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.
"We are grateful to the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation for the informational support of our initiative. In such a gloomy period, we strive to show that art can offer a concrete response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Europe through cooperation and solidarity", - said "Residenze Artistiche", co-organizers of the Italian Residences network.
In total, 10 artists from Ukraine and their families will take part in the "MIR" art initiative. In addition to receiving humanitarian aid, Ukrainian artists will be able to continue their creative activities, as well as build partnerships with local cultural figures for three months.
"It is extremely important for the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation to support cultural figures during the war. Despite the difficulties that we have faced due to the full-scale russian invasion of independent Ukraine, we continue to support and inform the cultural community about events and opportunities on the cultural front. On this occasion I would like to invite international organizations to share with us their own events in support of Ukraine and Ukrainian artists to more effectively disseminate them among the Ukrainian cultural community. Nowadays it is extremely important for the art community to feel the unification of the world for Ukraine", - said Vladyslav Berkovski, executive director of the UCF.
