Cultural Funds condemn the unprecedented aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine

The European Cultural Foundation, the Danish Arts Foundation, the Romanian Cultural Fund, and the National Culture Fund (Bulgaria) condemn the armed aggression of the russian federation and express their solidarity with Ukraine.

“Putin’s war on Ukraine is a war on Europe. He must not succeed. As Europeans, we stand resolutely in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all those, including in russia, who resist putin’s attempt to rewrite European borders and European history. The future of Europe is made right now in our response to the war on Ukraine, our response to Putin’s war on Europe” - said representatives of the European Cultural Foundation. 

After five successful European, regional and thematic editions, the Ukraine edition is now open for considering cultural emergency requests and joint European actions to stand with Ukraine. It specifically supports European cultural initiatives in the following areas:

• disinformation, misinformation, propaganda filter bubbles, fake news, ongoing war ‘infodemic’ by supporting independent, alternative, and trusted (digital) media
• individuals fleeing their homes and looking for shelter in Ukraine or in exile by providing safe cultural spaces
• forces of fragmentation by investing in artistic and cultural expressions withstanding the harsh realities of conflict and acting for a peaceful future of Ukraine and Europe
