UCF together with the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People launched grants to promote the culture of Crimea, Pryazovia and the Black Sea region

As part of this year's "Culture. Regions" grant program, the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation has established the LOT "Culture of Indigenous Peoples and Unique Ethnic Cultures of Pryazovia and Black Sea Regions". It was developed in cooperation with the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people to promote the preservation, development and promotion of the culture of Crimea, Pryazovia and Black Sea regions, which are in a threatened state due to the Russian occupation.

Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, and Vladyslav Berkovski, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, told this during the presentation of the updated grant program "Culture. Regions" grant program at the UKRINFORM press center.

"Support for local culture is extremely important in the current situation. Uniting here, on the territory of independent Ukraine, we must make maximum efforts to preserve the culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples of Crimea and the ethnic cultures of the Pryazovian and Black Sea regions, despite the temporary occupation of these territories by Russia and its attempts to destroy everything there. Therefore, I am grateful to the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation for its collaboration and full support in this direction", - emphasized Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars.

The priorities of the LOT are: support for projects that popularize the art of the indigenous peoples of Crimea and the unique ethnic cultures of the Azov and Black Sea regions, expand the range of artistic names and phenomena; support for measures to preserve and digitize the unique cultural heritage of the peoples of Crimea, the Pryazov and Black Sea regions of Ukraine, digitization and evacuation of objects located in regions close to hostilities. 

The amount of the grant that an applicant can receive for the project ranges from UAH 700 thousand to UAH 3 million. The application deadline is March 6, 2023.
