298 projects will be financed by Ukrainian Cultural Foundation as the result of competitive selection of cultural-art projects in 2018.

Foundation will support projects for the total amount of 148 771 817,59 UAH. At the moment all negotiation procedures between Foundation and grant-receivers are finished and active realization stage is in full swing.

At the same time Foundation improves contest documentation after which UCF will announce next open call at the end of 2018.

We remind, that Foundation announced three types of contests - individual projects, national cooperation projects (partnership of two or more Ukrainian organizations was required) and international cooperation projects (required foreign partner including Ukrainian diaspora representatives).

Foundation supported following number of projects (by type) in 2018:

  • Individual Projects - 241 (for total sum of 83 319 990,41 UAH)
  • National Cooperation Projects - 42 (for total sum of 46 195 562,53 UAH)
  • International Cooperation Projects (for total sum of 19 256 264,65 UAH)

Contest was held in two stages - technical selection and expert evaluation. 59 experts were engaged this year in evaluation process (visual art, audial art, audio-visual art, design and fashion, performing art, cultural heritage, literature and publishing, culture and creative industries). Also, all applications had to correspond with one of the Foundation’s priorities.

Statistics of financed projects in 2018 by priorities:

  1. Supporting cultural projects at the stages of conceptualization, preparation and pre-production thereof - 67 projects.
  2. Facilitating analysis and research in culture and arts - 33 projects.
  3. Facilitating introduction of innovations, digital technologies and digitalization in culture and arts - 31 projects.
  4. Supporting young creative persons and cultural and art debuts, as well as facilitating professional growth of talented children and youth - 29 projects.
  5. Facilitating inclusion in culture and arts, expanding audience through engaging various age and social groups - 24 projects.
  6. Ensuring cross-sectoral cooperation and establishing inter-regional cultural dialogue to support development of communities, creative development of small territories of Ukraine - 23 projects.
  7. Engaging international partners in implementation of joint initiatives and co-funding of cultural projects, including those supported within the framework of the Creative Europe Programme or other EU programmes - 21 projects.
  8. Facilitating presentation of the Ukrainian culture and arts abroad, including at international events and exhibitions - 20 projects.
  9. Facilitating development of an e-resource on cultural heritage and cultural values, and facilitating introduction of modern information technologies in museum and cultural heritage management - 19 projects.
  10. Facilitating development of educational initiatives in the fields of culture and arts, including in creative industries, aimed to support education, training and retraining in the field of arts - 17 projects.
  11. Ensuring comprehensive development and functioning of the Ukrainian language in all aspects of social life throughout the whole territory of Ukraine - 10 projects.
  12. Facilitating preservation of cultural diversity - 6 projects.
