Petrykivka painting is a showpiece of Ukrainian art and an integral part of our identity. Colorful patterns of folk motifs have recently been found not only on towels or souvenirs, but also among modern interior decor or clothing design.
In 2012, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine recognized Petrykivka painting as a part of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine, and it was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013.
The project "Petrykivka painting - from gray antiquity to the future" was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. It is a series of 10 video lessons that will reveal the secrets of drawing both individual elements of "Petrykivka" and the rules of combining them into full compositions.
