National Creative Unions of Ukraine ask Verkhovna Rada to finance the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation in 2023

National creative unions of Ukraine addressed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy Mykyta Poturaev with a collective appeal on financing the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation to support cultural projects in 2023. 

"Culture is a national basis for the formation of consciousness that ensures the consolidation of the efforts of the entire Ukrainian society in resisting Russian aggression. And right now, more than ever, Ukrainian culture, cultural institutions and artists need financial support. 

One of the best ways to support Ukrainian culture, in our opinion, is to provide it through the grant system, the mechanism of which is understandable to the entire civilized world community.

To date, the only state specialized institution in Ukraine that can provide such support in virtually all areas of the cultural and artistic sphere and organize transparent, honest and highly qualified cultural and artistic competitions is the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

Only in the first five years of its existence, the Foundation supported more than 2,500 local, national and international projects in the cultural sphere.

Aware of the difficult economic situation in the country, due to the negative impact of military actions on the territory of Ukraine and the impossibility of currently determining the consequences of Russian aggression, we are deeply convinced that the financing of the only institution in Ukraine, formed according to European standards, which is the main state investor in the sphere of culture and practically all its directions, must at least 50% (compared to the previous year) correspond to the target purpose of its formation.
