An additional open call for the "Culture in Times of Crisis: Institutional Support" program

The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation together with the Ministry of Culture and Informational Policy of Ukraine decided to hold an additional call for the "Culture in Times of Crisis: Institutional Support" Program.

According to the results of the first call (July 30 - August 28, 2020), 419 applications were submitted for support with UAH 286 million in total. As the total budget of the program is 580.9 million, the Supervisory Board of the Foundation decided to announce an additional open call for the selection of institutional support projects under the updated conditions.

This will allow as many organizations in the fields of culture, cultural tourism and creative industries as possible to receive support to cover the costs of operating and basic activities until the end of 2020 and to cover accounts payable incurred from March 12, 2020 during the period of the lockdown to pay financial obligations in accordance with the budget items determined by the Foundation.

The budget of the second stage of the program is UAH 295 million.

The second stage call will end on September 21 at 18:00 (+2 GMT).

We remind you that the goals of the program "Culture in Times of Crisis: Institutional Support" are:

• to support for the organizational capacity of cultural institutions of all forms of ownership that have been affected by quarantine restrictions;
• to promote job creation in the creative industries and ensuring staff reductions;
• to stabilize of the work of the subjects of cultural and cognitive (domestic) tourism through compensation of losses due to the action of quarantine restrictions;
• to support for the film industry during a pandemic.

Under the program, support will be provided for 9 LOTs in the relevant sectors of cultural and creative industries with the following budget allocation:

• Audiovisual arts - UAH 40 million.
• Visual arts - UAH 20 million
• Audio arts - UAH 25 million
• Design and fashion - UAH 10 million
• Performing arts- UAH 35 million
• Cultural heritage - UAH 45 million
• Literature (except publishing) - UAH 30 million
• Cultural and creative industries (cross-sectorial activities) - UAH 30 million
• Cultural and Educational (domestic) tourism - UAH 60 million

The amounts of LOTs of the additional call can be increased due to the savings that may arise during the competitive selection of institutional support projects submitted from July 30 to August 28, 2020. The distribution of funds between LOTs may change based on the number of submitted applications within the additional call.

Pay attention to the main changes that have taken place!

• The list of NACE is expanded - see Annex 1 to the Instructions for Applicants;
• Organizations registered on the territory of Ukraine not later than January 1, 2019 may apply for support within the framework of an additional call;
• Charitable organizations and trade unions may apply for support within the framework of an additional call;
• Projects for LOT 1. Audiovisual arts can be submitted not only by producers, demonstrators and distributors of films, but also by TV representatives.
• Organizations operating in the field of radio broadcasting will be able to apply under LOT 3 Audio Arts.
• LOT 7 Literature and publishing (print media) will be able to accept projects from organizations operating in the field of print and electronic media.
• Opportunities for submitting applications under LOT 9 Cultural and Cognitive Tourism have been expanded
